Alireza Vaziri is a multidisciplinary designer and educator whose work lies at the intersection of design, technology, and social change. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is an active member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). He holds an MFA in Design from the University of California, Davis, and a BFA in Design from the University of Art in Tehran, Iran.
With a strong foundation in visual storytelling and interactive media, Alireza’s creative practice explores the power of design to raise awareness about pressing social, political, and cultural issues. His teaching and research emphasize design as a critical tool for public engagement and cross-cultural dialogue, often incorporating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and immersive media to amplify underrepresented voices.
Alireza’s work has been recognized internationally and showcased in exhibitions, galleries, and publications around the world. Highlights include features in Graphis, Communication Arts, Mut zur Wut, the London International Creative Competition, The Sechrest Gallery of Art, Rubin Center for the Visual Arts, and the Center for Contemporary Art. He has also been the recipient of several prestigious design awards and honors, reflecting the impact and relevance of his creative contributions.
