Graduate Admissions

The Department of Art offers a program of graduate study leading to the degree of Master of Fine Arts. The M.F.A. degree is in the terminal degree in studio art. It is not simply an extension of undergraduate study that is commonly associated with many other master’s degrees. The application process for the M.F.A. degree is very competitive and follows rigorous admissions standards. The Department of Art is actively seeking students who have developed a coherent body of artwork that demonstrates an understanding of contemporary discourse in the field of fine arts.
